Victims in E motion
![]() Victims in E motion
This image depicts the daily grind of a victim after being scammed. Feeling like she is just part of the hardware in the scammers computer, sucked in to the slatted sides of the tower fan by the pull of emotion. Pulled in to the core and unable to remove herself from the propellor, knowing that she has to, wondering when it will stop when she knows what the big picture really is. She is emotionally, financially and spiritually crippled and she has to break from the cycle to escape. The scammer lives on without interruption to his life whilst the victims intellectual and spiritual faculties break down. There are times when she expects that her lover will walk right in through the front door. For her, financial favours did not compare to losing the person that she is to spend the rest of her life with. When the illusion is broken, everything changes in her life, her most valued possession (her heart) destroyed after extending a helping hand to the one that she loved.
Most women report wanting to die immediately after their experience. Victims experience similiar emotions as women who have been sexually assaulted. Family should ensure that the victim is not left alone immediately after awareness of being scammed, she is suffering a real emotional breakdown, listen non-judgementally, she is trying to cope, give reassurance that she will be okay and encourage her to see her doctor. Friends, family and relatives should not express frustration at the victim for giving their money away. Let them know you are concerned and that you are there to help. Ask if they are thinking about suicide and if they have made any plans - this shows that you care and will help them talk about how they feel about their romance scam.
