Romance Scammer - Dream/Reality

Romance Scammer - The unseen enemy of the soul - Romance scamming could be reduced by blocking entry to dating/social sites if the postcode entered did not match the location of the computer. This would also limit the offenders ability to store their information online as they do in social networks such as MyLife.com.
A romance scammer is a young man or woman who is lacking in respect and pretends to be someone else on an internet dating or social site They display a different appearance on their outlook in order to deceive others. They become actors playing a role of the romantic, sweet, kind, caring, considerate lover. This role is played out upon entry in to a dating site, from there it is script all the way, copied and pasted from poetic sites. They use these scripts as bait by presenting them to the victim who feels uncomfortable at the speed of the developing relationship pace, in a sense, pulling or dragging the victim, hoping to fulfill the needs of their authentic online lover who develops a strong emotional attachment to their sweet words of love. Once the emotional attachment is strong, their lack of respect surfaces and they claim misfortune in some manner, a car accident, a mugging, a hospital in-patient, loss of wallet and paperwork, money needed for their business, sick mother, sick child needs medical bills paid, birthday gifts or their hotel has burnt down with all their paperwork and belongings now destroyed. They will encourage you to sell your car, your house and anything that you have of value to help them. They request money to be transferred by Western Union and ask that it be kept quiet for fear of embarrassment to the family upon meeting them. They usually give out their phone numbers which start with +4470..... these numbers are purchased through the internet and are not real UK numbers, they are redirected to anywhere in the world numbers and are part of their deceptive outlook. They can obtain phone numbers from almost anywhere in the world. Country code +234 is Nigerian. Romance scammers can use sophisticated programs like CamDecoy which is fake webcam that requires no webcam. Programs such as CamDecoy allows the scammer to see what you are writing to them as you are typing their message and they can prepare a clip for you to make them appear real. Scammers can also use voice changing devices to disguise their Nigerian accents. Products such as portable voice changers allows the scammer to change his voice from a male to female or female to male. These can be attached to the mouthpiece of the mobile phone. Romance scammers have been successful for years and use the same story lines over and over again. They like to follow a story or script because they can remain consistent and reduce the amount of contradictions that can create doubt. They have no remorse and are not shamed by what they do. Romance scammers work with friends, so if you ask him one question and then ask him the same question at a different time of the day, you may just get another answer. Romance Scammers do not like answering personal questions and avoid them eg. Who was your best friend in primary school? What would you like to accomplish by the time you are 55? They eliminate any evidence of their lies by removing their profiles from dating sites and to avoid being removed by the admin for using stolen credit card membership. When caught in a lie, they eliminate feelings of responsibility by creating another lie. They distance themselves from the lie by passing the blame on to something or someone else and use expressions such as "when you can count all the stars in the sky, that's when I will stop wanting you" to convey feelings that are not attributed to their own. They will attack disapproval by introducing doubt and will answer with a question if you become critical of their behaviour. People do fall in love on the internet and marry their partners, these too good to be true people do happen.. You know you have a scammer if they leave the country before you meet and he/she is a widower. If this is the script he is using, it is the only outstanding difference from true internet lovers within the first few contact emails.. In late 2012, romance scammers now extort money from victims through postings of their victims communications and photos on web sites where they demand payment to remove the information. To request a removal of content, contact the webmaster of the site or send a legal request to Google or request a remove personal information from the web to remove information showing through Google services. In reality, it is likely that his real script was written by a parent who loved and did not love at the same time. Love has become his enemy, just like love becomes his enemy after he scams others, he is re-enacting his childhood only he is the one in control now. |
SMS - It is suspected that your cell phone can be hacked if the scammer uses one of the smart phones like Blackberry.
